O Shiva, Shaunkara, Supreme Benevolent Lord, You are the seed of the universe and the source of all compassion. You resemble a silver mountain and hold a crescent moon on Your head. You are like a bright jewel. You are the base of all welfare. You hold in Your hand an axe for taming animals and bestow blessings through Your varabhaya mudra. I bow unto You always. Please grant me Your grace. Be pleased and bestow realisation upon me O, one dressed in tiger skin, holder of the vajra and of the long horn. All the wealth of Your qualities, based on the principle of social equality, are not mentioned in the scriptures. O Lord, You are above this universe. You are the cause of creation and the remover of fear. Give me the dust particles of Your holy feet. O Supreme Benevolent Lord! You are Shivashankara the seed of the universe the supreme Lord and the fountain of all compassion. You are like the silver mountain. Lord Shiva on whose head shines the moon. You are brighter than the brightest jewel. From You came the wellbeing of the universe. I pay obeisance to You who holds the axe, tames wild animals and bestows the varabhaya mudra.
